Hello 2025

I hope everyone is having a great start to your year. I have a lot of news to share, so I'll give you the TL;DR up front.

  1. The Us series is going to be an actual thing. Look out this summer for "Discovering Us". This will be an interconnected book directly tied to The Gravity of Us.

  2. On my Patreon, for all paid members, I'm rewriting the story "Betrayed" from my Kindle Vella backlog.

    1. This rewrite comes with the transition from present tense 1st person point of view to past tense 1st person and dual POV.

    2. I've "reimagined" the story as MM where it originally was MF.

  3. If you haven't joined my Patreon, maybe consider checking out what I'm offering.

Okay, for those of you wanting to know more.

I think I need to start with something I've shared on my Patreon.

The week before Christmas, a very good friend of mine took his life. Losing him affected me deeply. I haven't read anything since then. I stopped writing. I disappeared from the internet for a few weeks.

I've experienced a lot of loss in my life. Enough to leave me with a boatload of trauma. But this one, this one hits differently. So, I took some time away to grieve, and while it's still fresh and it hurts every single day, I have to move forward.

Now, onto the happy things.

I never intended The Gravity of Us to turn into any kind of series. At all. Yet, here we are because these characters and that world will not SHUT UP. I swear, these kids torture me for fun. Constantly. So many to juggle. And yes, that means more than 1 additional book. That means that I have at least 4 book ideas floating around outside of The Gravity of Us and Discovering Us. So, be ready.

At this time, Discovering Us is undergoing editing and cover design. My goal is a summer release. Once I have an official release date planned, I'll post here on my blog and on all of my socials.

Next, we have Betrayed. I can't say the original Kindle Vella version of this story was any good. I honestly think it was really bad, but as I'm rewriting it under the MM fantasy romance tag, I'm liking it a ton. Let's be real. Queer always makes it better. (/jk or am I?) Anyway, this is releasing monthly on Patreon in chapter-by-chapter format.

Lastly, if you haven't already, check out my Patreon which I lovingly refer to as my Author Fans. There are deleted scenes from The Gravity of Us, monthly work-in-progress updates, random short stories, and other bonuses like access to a Discord server where you can talk with me and anyone else who chooses to join us.

Also, if you aren't already following me on Threads, make sure you do so. I post all the time on Threads and drop random little things that may not get shared to other places like Instagram or Bsky.

I'm excited about all the projects I'm working on this year, and I hope you're excited to see more from me.

Always,

Jamie Avery King

P.S. keep an eye out for changes to my website. I'll likely put up a Discovering Us placeholder in the coming months. It might come with some website changes in general, now that I'll have a book series and all.
