Hello everyone,
I have some announcements for 2023. First, I want to start by expressing how much I appreciate the readers of my books. Since day one of this journey, I’ve said that even if only one person reads my novel(s) and takes something away from it, I’ll be happy, and this sentiment still stands.
Since my debut in 2018, I’ve learned and grown more than I thought possible. I was diagnosed with ADHD and started seeing a therapist, working through my traumas, which is an excessively long list when I think about it. The people and events that shaped me, I’m sure many can relate to the type of pain I have experienced. I used to think I was too weird to fit in, broken, and unable to be fixed. Questioned why life had to be so unfair. Wondered why people were so cruel to one another. Sometimes, I still feel this way. There are so many things that I’m now processing through my writing. Everything I write about has meaning and symbolism tied in, more often than not, related to my lived experiences. My hopes. Dreams.
There are stories I started to write and gave up too soon; I never completed The Watchers series, and I don’t know if I ever will. My heart isn’t in that story anymore, and I know I left you all on the worst cliffhanger to years later tell you I may never complete the series. With this decision, I’ve stopped all further printing of The Watchers: Born of Darkness, but I will keep it enrolled in KU and on Kindle. In addition, I decided to drop the price for the Kindle version to $2.99. I truly apologize for this decision. Maybe one day, I will revisit it.
As we have entered 2023, I feel I have grown in my writing and found my ‘author voice’—my style. Though unfinished, writing Betrayed and publishing on Kindle Vella for that story helped me hone my skills. Betrayed was my first explicit content story where I wasn’t afraid to put myself out there. That step gave me the courage and inspiration to write a huge project in 2022 that will have more news later this year.
All of that said, I have big news:
1. I’m rewriting Betrayed and will update the Vella story once all edits are complete. This decision to stop and rewrite didn’t come easily, but I felt it was necessary. The rewrite is a complete tense shift from first-person present to first-person past alongside developmental edits. I will complete this story on Kindle Vella as initially planned, then publish it for ebook and print.
2. I’m gearing up to release another Kindle Vella story which will later move to Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and print. The current title is Solace, and it is a dark MM romance. This is a niche subgenre, but I hope you enjoy it.
3. I have an enormous surprise later in the year that I can’t say much about yet, but I want you all to know that I poured my heart and soul into this story. I hope you all love it as much as I do. Please keep an eye out for announcements for this later this summer.
My stories are often centered on dark and painful themes meant to teach harsh lessons and show those that have suffered in the same way that you are not alone. You are valid. You are seen. You are loved.
I hope my stories and characters are relatable for many of you and that we can share our pains, sorrows, and joy together.
May your souls always burn bright with the strength and beauty of fire.
